Game Review: Keep it 100

It’s that time of year where friends and family get together to play games around the table! I want to take a look at a game that is likely going to be a hit at your next outing and one that will make you the star of the gathering!

Keep it 100 is published by Cut Games. It is designed by Nate Murray, Nate Weisman and David Malki. Art by Alex Ferri Land. The game plays 2-8 players in 30 mins and is recommended for ages 17+.

Overview:

In Keep it 100 players compete to score the most points by correctly guessing how many people answered yes to survey question. Everyone else can score points if they agree with you or think it is more or less and they are right. The game gets harder as it goes so be careful! The player with the best knack for others and the most points will win!

Gameplay:

In Keep it 100 players are given a set amount of cards based on the player count. At a full count of 8 players, everyone starts with 2 cards. Then you pick a character card to represent yourself. Starter cards are placed for each line to give specific amounts between 0-100. This gives you two lines you can play your cards to during the game.

There are two versions of the game, basic and advanced rules. In advanced rules starting with the first player, that player reads their card and decides how many people answered yes to that question out of 100. They then place that card on a timeline from 0 to 100, placing it in between other cards where they feel like it belongs. This locks in their answer and they place their own player card under it on the 20 point side. Other players decide if they think it is correct, more or less based on the other numbers on the line. All players place their cards on the 10 point side where they think it will line up. The card is revealed and the points are given to correct players.

The advanced game continues until all players have played their cards, adding correct answers to the timelines to make it more of a challenge to determine where the future cards will fit. The player with the most points wins!

In the cooperative mode players work as a team to build a chain of ten cards correctly where you start with 5 “life” cards that you remove when one is wrong. Play to get ten cards correct or until you have lost all of your life cards!

Impressions:

Keep it 100 is a fun, light party game that we have gotten to the table with as little as 4 people and as many as 10 people. Players have all enjoyed this one from those that are more “hard-core” gamers to those who are more casual gamers. We have found it to be an easy to play game for most players and when we hosted a game night with our friends who don’t normally play board games this one was the most popular.

The game is rated 17+, keep in mind when playing with younger family members and friends you may want to take out some of the cards that are a little more “spicy” then others, but your mileage and comfort will vary.

Overall this is a game you and your friends will want to add to your next game night, especially when you have a big group looking to play together. Keep it 100 was a hit for us and I’m sure it will be for you and your group as well!
