Our family plays a lot of different games and we especially love quick and easy ones to get around a table. Today we are going to take a look at a game that gives us an adventure in word hunting!
Cleariosity is a 2-6 player game that plays in 15-20 mins. It is published by White Beetle Games.

Overview:
In Cleariosity players compete to form the most valid three-letter words from the cards played into the center of the table.
Gameplay:
Shuffle the 60 transparent cards and deal them evenly between the players. Each player places their cards face down in a stack in front of them.
At the same time players will take the top card of their draw pile and place it in the center so that all the cards are facing the same direction. All players will attempt to identify a three-letter word that is either horizontal, vertical or diagonal.

When a player finds a word they immediately shout it out then point out the cards that make it up. Other players will verify that it works and that player will collect those cards into their own scoring pile.
The game continues like this and a new card from each player’s hand is added to the middle whenever everyone has passed and are not able to find a new fit from the cards present. Once all cards have been added from everyone’s draw piles and no one can create any new words the game ends.
At the end everyone counts their cards and gets one point per card they have. The player with the most points is the winner!

Impressions:
In Cleariosity we found a fun and easy to play family game that was as much of a game as it was a chance to work on word recognition and spelling. It’s a simple to understand game and played really quickly with a teach and go method that got it to the table, taught and played in less than 20 mins for us.
It’s a learning game, which for all you parents of young kiddos out there is a great way to sneak in some reading and spelling comprehension in a way that makes it fun for everyone at the table. It’s a game you might want to play a little slower as an adult or have just the kids play and help them understand it best.
For adults this might be a little bit on the easy side but I would compare it to a game like Spot-It where you can make it fun and competitive but it plays more as a real-time speed game for those that know how to keep it fast and furious.

Overall I would give this one a big recommendation for kids and family game nights to get a quick to learn, easy to understand game to the table that will not only challenge your young spellers to think out words but send them on a good word hunt through the tiles. So check out Cleariosity for your next game night and see if you can all spell out “F-U-N” around the table!
Check out the game here on their website and tell them we sent ya!
