Game Review: Tongues Out

Today we are going to be looking at a new game for kids reviewed by our friends Paul and Lydia and their kiddos. Let’s take a look and see how well it fared!

Tongues Out! From Blue Orange Games is a super cute memory matching game for kids, listed at ages 4 and up, but our 3 year old loves it! Beware though, it may encourage lots of tongues to be stuck out.

Tongues Out! Comes with 12 squishy pugs, two pugs of each of the six colors, 4 playing boards, and 2 lollipop dice. The box comes with a cardboard insert to keep those pugs locked in place when you’re not playing.

The game is quick and easy, lasting 15 minutes or less for a two player game, with the first to get 6 pugs on their board winning. The play is simple: roll the dice and look for the lollipop colors on the pugs. With two dice, you get to choose two pugs and check their tongues for a match! (All the other players must be able to see the tongues too!) The game does include some alternative competitive rules, in which you can steal pugs from other people.

This game is simple, easy to play and easy to store, and great for littles with short attention spans (or those who love dogs)! The pugs seem well made and durable and are super cute! If you’re looking for a fun simple but cute and silly matching game that is perfect for young kids just starting out with games – this might be one to pick up for your shelf.

I know my youngest loves the game, but particularly loves caring for the pugs!

Thank you Lydia and Paul for helping us write and review this game!
