Game Review: Turtle Splash

Today we are going to take a look at a game from the Lucky Duck Kids line partnered with Gigamic Games. This game was reviewed by friends of the channel Paul and Lydia with their two sons. Let’s see what they thought of the game!

Turtle Splash! is designed by Joel & Rafael Escalante and is a fun combo dexterity and memory matching game for kids, ages 5-9. Our 3 year old likes the matching part of the game, but the dexterity element is still a bit challenging for his developing hands. Our 5 year old can play this game independently with his friends, so it’s a great age appropriate game for him.

The game consists of 1 lake board, 1 river board, 2 removable barriers, 4 personal  and different boards, 4 swim rings, 12 beach ball tokens, 1 turtle flicking token, 12 animals tokens, and 1 rule book! The lake board and the river board come assembled for you and simply click them together like a puzzle piece. The cardboard for the all the pieces is sturdy and well made. The turtle flicking token is made out of wood.

We like how this game brings in three completely different skills: dexterity, matching, and pattern recognition and strategy based on the personal game boards differences. For us, it’s a game that our youngest can grow into (with the dexterity and pattern strategy being new concepts for him. For our oldest, we love how he can pull it out at explain how to play himself – creating independence and ownership of playing games!

So if you’re looking for a more advanced kids version of memory match and notice that maybe some dexterity training may be good for your crew – consider taking a look at Turtle Splash!
