Game Review: CDSK Travel

I love trivia games and getting to play them with family and friends is one of my favorite ways to enjoy trivia. Today we are going to look at a version that has been around for a bit but now comes in a travel edition!

CDSK Travel is published by Hachette Boardgames and Whatz. It plays 2-16 players in approximately 45 mins.

Overview:

Play as individuals or teams to help move your team down the board to victory by determining your knowledge on a variety of topics!

Gameplay:

Teams form of 1-4 players each. Each team brings a playing piece and grabs whatever they can find to represent their team or use the included dry erase board on the mat. Each team starts on the classic or express start space depending on how short or long of a game you want to play.

Starting with the first team and going in clockwise order the team on your left draws the top card based off of the space you are on and reads the category. The categories match the title of the game: Curious, Delightful, Seasoned and Knowledge. Decide how well you know the category on a scale of 1 to 10 and then announce that number. The player holding the card reads the question and your team has 31 seconds to answer.

If you get the question right, move the number of spaces equal to the number of the question. If you get it wrong, nothing happens. Play continues to the next player and continues around the board from there. If you ever hit a challenge space, these are special cards from the Challenge deck and they are usually good ways to advance quickly around the board.

When you find yourself on the Hurry Up and Win space, it’s time answer a final question. Get one of these right and your team wins the game!

Impressions:

CDSK is an easy to learn trivia game that leans into team based trivia games you can play on your tabletop easily together. We love trivia games but sometimes it can be hard when some players are younger or have limited knowledge on subjects. This game allows you to change the difficulty of the questions and lean into positive experiences with trivia for everyone.

I also love this travel edition because it is small and compact, allowing this game to be taken just about anywhere for game night, dinner and drinks or maybe just to throw in the backpack for a weekend trip! The game is easy to setup and teach so it works in just about every setting you could imagine.

Overall if you are looking for a travel trivia game that will give you a fun time around a table with family and friends then look no further than CDSK Travel for your next game night! And may all the questions end up in your favor!
